My love for photography started in my early teens when my grandfather got me my first camera. I remember that time so fondly—walking around, shooting anything and everything, always drawn to the play of shadows on the ground and finding creative angles. I spent my twenties immersed in the craft. Like many artists, it was truly my passion—and even my obsession.
In 2016, at a truly pivotal time in my life—having just been accepted to graduate school and meeting my soon-to-be husband—I started working in weddings. To say the least, I fell in love. I think this work speaks to so many aspects of my soul and feeds me in such a deeply profound way. I’m so grateful to call this my career.
My photography style is artistic, with a lean into photojournalism. My goal is always to support my couples’ unique personalities and capture them, their guests, and the event as it is—avoiding antiquated norms and pressures, honoring that everyone is different, and appreciating that in the work we do together.
In addition to photography, I have a master’s degree in counseling from NYU. I recently moved from NYC, my hometown, to the Poconos in PA with my husband and two children. I currently serve NYC, Philly, and the Poconos. Photo By Chellise Michael
Photo taken of me by my 6 year old daughter luchiana, back in my old hood, on the upper west side, my own small town, its weird to be a new yorker and think like that, but when you grew up here thats truly what its like, your apt and the 5 block radius around it becomes your own small town and in many ways as a small kid its all that exists. I love this place it gave me so much awareness of culture art and the reality of the world we live in, since you are confronted with that daily, i still have the pleasure of coming back here often to drop film at @proimagephoto and our kids pediatrician is still here. Walking around yesterday with my kids was so bitter sweet. Ultimately i think we made a good choice to live more rural, but grateful i will always have my ties and roots here and still get to work here..
