My photography is artistic and leans toward an honest, documentary-style approach. I love older work from the turn of the century, when photographs were created to capture something historical and meaningful. That work was less interested in perfection and more focused on the power of memorializing the present moment. I think this translates naturally to weddings. They are historically significant events and ceremonial acts that deserve thoughtful documentation, images you feel genuinely connected to. I am also a fine artist with a background of over 20 years in fine art portraiture. I love weaving in the play of light and shadow and finding creative ways to use the natural environment we are in to create work that moves beyond traditional wedding photography.
Absolutely. While the goal is to be as authentic and true to real life as possible, most people need some level of guidance to create strong images. I invite couples to show me who they really are. How do you act as a couple when no one else is watching? There is always a performative aspect to photography, but a truly documentary approach means recreating real life and unique human behavior rather than pretending to be someone else for photos. I believe life is beautiful as it is. I intentionally keep things simple and straightforward, avoiding the clichés that are common in the industry. I use simple direction such as looking at each other, holding hands, walking toward or away from me, standing in sunlight for a classic portrait, or letting reflected light move across a wall. I’m inspired by street photography from the 80s and 90s and love catching people while they talk and move naturally.
Family portraits are set up with a specific goal, mainly to bring people together and ensure all requested groupings are photographed with the best backdrop available. As a documentary-style portrait photographer, I approach this process in an intentional and thoughtful way that feels less stagnant than traditional family portraiture.
For my purposes, I work best with a very minimal, skeletal shot list, and yes, I help create this. I also help with ideas for portrait sessions and selecting backdrops for all set-up and posed photographs. Timelines typically include my arrival time, ceremony, family portraits, couple portraits, reception, dinner, and dancing. If you choose to work with an extensive shot list, I strongly recommend hiring a wedding planner or designating a trusted friend to help coordinate. At this stage in my career, my focus is on creating truly thoughtful and creative imagery, and that requires a degree of freedom. Overly detailed lists and rigid timelines can sometimes be limiting.
While my primary passion is intimate weddings and city hall elopements, I do accept a select number of larger weddings each year. These events typically include up to 200 guests and a maximum of 8 hours of coverage. If additional coverage is required, a second photographer may remain on-site beyond that timeframe. As a working mother of two, I do not offer wedding days exceeding 8 hours.
Second photographers are individuals I have worked with directly or have vetted extensively. All photographers who work with me have comparable camera gear and specialize in 35mm film. Typically, a second photographer has less wedding-specific experience but a strong overall photography background.
An assistant helps carry camera gear and 35mm film cameras, loads film, changes batteries, and supports all photo-related needs throughout the day. This is especially helpful for weddings with over 200 guests.
In the event that I am unable to perform due to illness or an unforeseen emergency, I will arrange for a qualified backup photographer. I am part of a large photography network in NYC and Northern Pennsylvania, which allows me access to trusted professionals when needed. I will remain involved in the process and handle the editing and delivery of your final gallery. If a suitable replacement cannot be secured, a full refund will be issued. For weddings with over 150 guests, I strongly encourage adding a second photographer to ensure fuller coverage and an additional layer of backup.
A 30 percent non-refundable booking fee is required to reserve your date. This fee secures your date and covers the opportunity cost of turning away other work.
Yes, I carry standard liability insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance to venues upon request.
Zelle is my primary method of payment. I also accept CashApp and PayPal. Cash is accepted for final payments only.
Yes. Please inquire and I am happy to share full galleries.
Wedding and elopement packages include photography coverage, travel, and vendor meals. Start times and timelines are confirmed in advance, and all details are outlined in the contract.
I allow a 15-minute buffer for elopements. For larger weddings, I am flexible as long as changes are communicated at least one week in advance. If a delay of two hours or more impacts the overall schedule, additional coverage time will be added to the contracted package as needed.
Yes. I work with a trusted group of officiants in NYC and Pennsylvania and am happy to connect you.
At this time, I do not offer in-person meetings. I do offer complimentary phone or video calls so we can connect and make sure we are a good fit.
All images are delivered as high-resolution JPEG files, typically 7 to 10 MB in size. Images are delivered through an online gallery hosted by Pic-Time, where you can download files, order prints, and share easily with friends and family.
I do not offer raw files or film negatives. By working with me, you are trusting my professional judgment and editing process. All delivered images are fully edited in my style and prepared for printing.
Online galleries remain active for up to one year. Images should be downloaded and backed up within that time. Gallery extensions are available for an annual fee.
Editing includes color correction, contrast adjustment, highlight and white point balancing, cropping, straightening, and curating the gallery by removing duplicates, closed eyes, and unflattering angles.
Retouching is available as an add-on. I work with a professional retoucher who can accommodate requests such as skin smoothing, body adjustments, or background removal. My shooting and editing style is natural, and retouching is rarely requested.
Yes. I include a full black and white version of every gallery. Black and white photography is a core part of my work.
I understand that some couples require privacy for professional or personal reasons. Full NDAs are available on a case-by-case basis for a 1,000 add-on. Outside of a full NDA, I am always mindful of privacy and work collaboratively with couples to choose images for sharing or promotion.
I currently collaborate with a Super 8 filmmaker. Super 8 video is available as a 1,000 add-on for elopements. Larger weddings and custom video coverage are available by quote.
I love shooting in the afternoon and just before sunset. Midday light can be more challenging, but with experience and intention, strong and dynamic images can be made at any time of day.
For digital, I use two Canon R6 cameras with fixed lenses including the 50mm 1.2 and 24mm 1.4L. For 35mm film, I typically bring three cameras: a manual 35mm camera, a point-and-shoot with flash, and a half-frame camera. Medium format is also available for larger weddings.
35mm film is the original photographic medium for both still and motion imagery. As digital became dominant, much of this format was left behind. Film offers a depth, texture, and quality that is difficult to replicate digitally. Each image has a distinct and tangible presence.
Weather often requires us to adjust plans. For intimate weddings and elopements, this may mean umbrellas or shifting to indoor locations such as a café, apartment, or hotel. For larger weddings, I strongly encourage having a rain plan in place with your venue.
I currently serve NYC, parts of upstate New York, New Jersey, northeastern Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia. As my youngest gets older, I am opening up to more travel. In February 2025, I will be photographing a wedding in Miami.
Yes. As a mother of two, I have a deep appreciation for maternity and family photography. These sessions are documentary in nature and primarily shot on 35mm film. Full galleries are available upon request. here.
