My love for photography started in my early teens when my grandfather got me my first camera. I remember that time so well —walking around, shooting anything and everything, at the time I had no idea this would become my life long love, but the bricks were absolutely being laid. I spent my twenties immersed in the underground nyc photo art scene, revisiting this time with digital and became a self taught fine art photographer. Like many artists, it was my obsession and has become a critical aspect of who I am.
In 2016, at a truly pivotal time in my life—having just been accepted to graduate school and meeting my soon-to-be husband—I started working in weddings. To say the least, I fell in love. I think this work speaks to so many aspects of my soul and feeds me in such a deeply profound way. I’m so grateful to call this my career.
My photography style is artistic, with a lean into photojournalism. My goal is always to support my couples’ unique personalities and capture them, their guests, and the event as it is—avoiding antiquated norms and pressures, honoring that everyone is different, and appreciating that in the work we do together.
In addition to photography, I have a master’s degree in counseling from NYU. I recently moved from NYC, my hometown, to the Poconos in PA with my husband and two children. I currently serve NYC, Philly, and the Poconos. Photo by my 6 year old daughter Luchiana Aruna
